For one, Black doctors endure systemic racism and bias while overcoming the many obstacles throughout the medical journey. And as Black Physicians account for only 5% of doctors in the United States, the need to diversify medicine helps to serve our communities, communities of color, and underserved communities with poor access to quality health care.
